My Oldtimers Leagues - 30 teams, 5 leagues

I have had these leagues for many years and really am still at the initial stage

5 leagues, most teams have played 9 games, a few just 6.

My leagues are always 6 teams, they play 3 game series, and I play strictly basic (of course with the oldtimers that is all you can play.

The ten oldtimer teams for the 1960s (well 9 since I don't play the 1962 Mets) are included with my 1960s leagues. That leaves 32 teams, and I have 5 oldtimers leagues so 2 teams, the 1921 Yankees, and 1922 Browns (both of whom I like very much) are not in my leagues. I do have the 1927 Yankees and 1936 Yankees in my leagues and the Browns were the odd team out as they did not win a pennant. A LONG time ago (early 80s) I had similar leagues for the oldtimers and 1960s and 1970s, and some leagues got up to 24 games played. I remember the 1962 Dodgers were a very hot 19-5. But that was a long time ago in a land far far away.

Misc highlights.
The 1950 Yankees started out 8-0 before losing their last game to the 1950 Phillies 6-5. Johnny Mize has been an absolute monster, through nine games he is 16x37 with 11 HR and 26 RBI. The Yanks have scored 8 or more runs n 7 of their 9 games.

1957 Hank Aaron has 7 HR and 19 RBI through 9 games.

1941 Joe DiMaggio homered in each of the first 5 games and is 17x34 with 6 HR and 12 RBI through 9 games.

The 1946 Red Sox started 1-5 getting crushed in games 4,5 and 6 by the scores of 6-1, 11-0 and 8-2 by the 1948 Indians but the Red Sox then swept the 1941 Dodgers in their next series. Joe Gordon of the 1948 Indians is just 3x36.

The 1953 Dodgers (one of my favorites) started 1-5, getting crushed by the 1950 Yankees in 3 games by the scores of 9-7, 8-1 and 13-1. Gil Hodges is 4x34 and the Dodger staff has allowed 21 HR in 9 games.

The 1906 Cubs are a pitiful 2-7 and have scored 1 run or less in 5 of the 9 games, 2 runs or less in 7 of the 9 games.

The 1927 Yankees have scored 11 runs in 3 of their 9 games.
