So I was single until into my forties. Many times on vacations or business trips I would take some teams for a few games or say if I was going to training for 1-2 or even 3 weeks, I would take a bunch of teams and do a tournament or similar project.
Some places I have rolled games: Lake Tahoe, Reno, Las Vegas, Hawaii, (vacations) and some other less exotic locales for business. My friend and I even rolled a game or 2 deep in the wilderness in Yosemite on a backpacking trip. (One thing I don't do is take any rare or collectible teams in the event I lose them or lose my luggage).
Some of my favorite rivalries:
1968 Tigers vs 1969 Orioles, always a knock down drag out contest. One memorable game in Las Vegas had the Tigers roar out to an 8-2 lead, only to see the O's rally for 7 runs in the 8th and 9th to take a 9-8 lead, then have the Tigers walk off in the bottom of the 9th for a 10-9 win.
1970 Reds vs 1975 or 1977 Red Sox, or 1979 Angels
1962 Dodgers vs 1964 Cardinals or 1965 Twins
1965 Giants vs 1968 Tigers
1961 Yankees vs 1969 Mets
1931 A's (Grove) vs 1934 Cards (Dean)
1954 Giants, 1953 Dodgers and 1950 Yankees vs each other
1941 Yankees, 1946 Red Sox, 1948 Indians vs each other
1905 Giants (Mathewson) vs 1906 Cubs (Brown)
1963 Dodgers vs 1966 Orioles
1971 Orioles vs 1973 Mets
1968 Cards vs 1964 Yankees. One game I had Bob Gibson have a no-hitter for 8 2/3 innings before Tom Tresh rolled a HR in a split chance.
I also like big pitching matchups and that is why some my teams I use in my projects are the 1964 Angels (Chance), 1965 Indians (McDowell) etc.
I also like offensive teams with big hitters like the 1977 Reds, 1977 Red Sox, 1979 Angels etc.
compared to some teams that were included in the past season SOM collection
I don't like the 1964 Reds and much prefer the 1965 Reds
I don't like the 1962 Angels and much prefer the 1964 Angels
I don't like the 1967 White Sox at all, the 1960 White Sox are more preferable although they usually don't make the cut, similar for the 1960 Braves
